Kyrie Pantokrator

Lord and Ruler of all beings, Abram, Isaac, Jacob’s God, Maker of both earth and heaven, stretched, adorned, and spangled broad: all things quake with fear before Thee, trembling at Thy mighty power; but Thy promised mercy ‘stounds us, loving us in every hour. O Thou Lord of great compassion, long Thou griev’st as our souls fall; Thou hold’st back Thy hand from chast’ning, mercy off’ring unto all! In Thy graciousness Thou gav’st us Jesus Christ, Whose death aligned sin and death and all Thy goodness, forgiv’n sins for humankind! Now we bow the knee before Thee and appeal in humble prayer: our deeds’ memory is most grievous, burden more than we may bear! We have sinned, we have sinned, and like us Thou know’st it well: O forgive us, O forgive us; save our souls from death and hell! For Thou art a God of mercy; Thy great goodness Thou dost show: we are but unworthy sinners, yet Thou comfortest our woe. We will praise Thee without ceasing, in this life and evermore; all of heaven sings Thy praises, merciful threeperson’d Lord!

Kyrie Pantokrator · Prayer of Manasseh, 1-2, 4, 6-7, 11-15

O Lord, Almighty God of our fathers, *
  Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and of their righteous seed;

who hast made heaven and earth, *
  with all the ornament thereof;

whom all men fear, *
  and tremble before thy power;

but thy merciful promise *
  is unmeasurable and unsearchable;

for thou art the most high Lord, of great compassion, *
  longsuffering, very merciful, and repentest of the evils of men.

Thou, O Lord, according to thy great goodness hast promised repentance and forgiveness to them that have sinned against thee: *
  and of thine infinite mercies hast appointed repentance unto sinners, that they may be saved.

Now therefore I bow the knee of mine heart, *
  beseeching thee of grace.

I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, *
  and I acknowledge mine iniquities:

wherefore, I humbly beseech thee, *
  forgive me, O Lord, forgive me, and destroy me not with mine iniquites.

Be not angry with me for ever, by reserving evil for me; *
  neither condemn me to the lower parts of the earth.

For thou art the God, even the God of them that repent; *
  and in me thou wilt show all thy goodness:

for thou wilt save me, that am unworthy, *
  according to thy great mercy.

Therefore I will praise thee for ever all the days of my life: *
  for all the powers of the heavens do praise thee, and thine is the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

O Lord and Ruler of the hosts of heaven, *
  God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and of all their righteous offspring:

You made the heavens and the earth, *
  with all their vast array.

All things quake with fear at your presence; *
  they tremble because of your power.

But your merciful promise is beyond all measure; *
  it surpasses all that our minds can fathom.

O Lord, you are full of compassion, *
  long-suffering, and abounding in mercy.

You hold back your hand; *
  you do not punish as we deserve.

In your great goodness, Lord, you have promised forgiveness to sinners, *
  that they may repent of their sin and be saved.

And now, O Lord, I bend the knee of my heart, *
  and make my appeal, sure of your gracious goodness.

I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, *
  and I know my wickedness only too well.

Therefore I make this prayer to you: *
  Forgive me, Lord, forgive me.

Do not let me perish in my sin, *
  nor condemn me to the depths of the earth.

For you, O Lord, are the God of those who repent, *
  and in me you will show forth your goodness.

Unworthy as I am, you will save me, in accordance with your great mercy, *
  and I will praise you without ceasing all the days of my life.

For all the powers of heaven sing your praises, *
  and yours is the glory to ages of ages. Amen.
