The first Sunday after the Epiphany.

We call on Thee, O Lord: in mercy hear our cry; in mercy help afford; we for Thy mercy sigh! O grant we may perceive both what we ought to do, and act as we believe, in faith and meekness too. O Lord, we ask for grace; we ask it in Thy name: power for the Christian race, grace to fulfil the same. We supplicate Thy power; Thy Spirit, Lord, afford; Thou art our strongest tower, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 We call on Thee, O Lord:
in mercy hear our cry;
in mercy help afford;
we for Thy mercy sigh!
2 O grant we may perceive
both what we ought to do,
and act as we believe,
in faith and meekness too.
3 O Lord, we ask for grace;
we ask it in Thy name:
power for the Christian race,
grace to fulfil the same.
4 We supplicate Thy power;
Thy Spirit, Lord, afford;
Thou art our strongest tower,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The first Sunday after the Epiphany.

O Lord, we beseech thee mercifully to receive the prayers of thy people which call upon thee; and grant that they may both perceive and know what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
