The fifth Sunday after the Epiphany.

We pray Thee, Lord, Thy Church to keep; defend from harm Thy feeble sheep; suffer them not to go astray; maintain them in Thy truthful way. Thy word is Truth; on Thee we lean; we in the wilderness have been; Lord, evermore our steps support, and lead us to Thy Heavenly Court! That we, who now have learnt to trace the workings of Thy covenant grace, may trust in Thine Almighty power for strength in our most helpless hour. We dwell in Thy most sure defense: no power of ill can drive us thence; suffer no evil thoughts within to draw us in the ways of sin! O evermore defend us then from Satan, self, and evil men: Almighty aid to us afford; save us, through Jesus Christ our Lord!

1 We pray Thee, Lord, Thy Church to keep;
defend from harm Thy feeble sheep;
suffer them not to go astray;

and lead us to Thy Heavenly Court!
That we, who now have learnt to trace
the workings of Thy covenant grace,

The fifth Sunday after the Epiphany.

O Lord, we beseech thee to keep thy Church and household continually in thy true religion; that they who do lean only upon the hope of thy heavenly grace, may ever more be defended by thy mighty power; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
