The Third Collect, for Aid against all Perils.
1 |
O Lord, our darkness lighten now; defend our homes from harm, our aid in every peril Thou, our stay in all alarm! |
2 |
Lighten the darkness of our minds, the darkness of our hearts; lighten the earthly gloom that blinds with grace Thy Truth imparts. |
3 |
In every peril of this night, our heavenly keeper be; Protector, Guardian, Helper, Might: we find our all in Thee. |
4 |
In deepest gloom of moral night, lighten our darkness still; open our eyes to see the light and understand Thy will. |
5 |
“Of thy great mercy,” Lord, we pray through Jesus Christ our Lord, to turn our darkness into day through Thine eternal word. |
