Collect after the Offertory. (IV)
1 |
Prevent us, Lord, in all we do, that all our deeds be leal and true, done in the grace of reverent fear, mindful that Thou art ever near. |
2 |
When we Thy holy presence seek, O further all our efforts weak with the rich favor of Thy grace, with strength to run the Christian race. |
3 |
In Thee be all our works begun; in Thee our every deed be done; O let our best and holiest be continued, ended, all in Thee. |
4 |
To Thee be praise; to us be shame; O glorify Thy sacred name; fight in us through the temporal strife, and give us everlasting life. |
5 |
Through Him who once came down to die, through Him who reigneth now on high, through Him who cried, “I come, O Lord,” Thy everpresent grace accord. |

Prevent us, O Lord, in all our doings, with thy most gracious favor, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works, begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
