For Purity.
1 |
All hearts are open unto Thee, Almighty God above; how earnest, steadfast should we be to walk with Thee in love! To Thee is known each vain desire, each upward, earnest thought; continually our hearts inspire to love Thee as we ought. |
2 |
From Thee nought secret can be kept, no secret smile or sigh; no secret tear by mourner wept is hidden from Thine eye. O cleanse the thoughts of all our hearts, and their inspirer be; Thy Holy Spirit grace imparts to raise them unto Thee. |
3 |
That Thy perfection we may trace, and perfectly may love, evermore seeking here Thy face, to reign with Thee above. O Holy Spirit, grace impart to magnify Thy word; reign Thou supreme in every heart, through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
