Good Friday. (II)
1 |
God of eternal, everlasting might, Who, by Thy Holy Spirit’s oversight, in unity Thy Church dost govern still, dost sanctify her both in deed and will. |
2 |
Recieve the prayers we offer at Thy shrine, for all estates of men, in Cov’nant Thine, Thy members they, Thyself their perfect Head; O Lord, on them Thy gracious blessing shed! |
3 |
Our humble supplications now we lift; upon Thy people pour Thy choicest gift; let each as taper, lighted by Thy hand, beam forth and shine, as Thou hast giv’n command. |
4 |
Illumined by Thine own indwelling grace, the reflex of Thy beauty may we trace in ev’ry member of the Church, Thy Bride, that each and all may close to Thee abide; |
5 |
May truly seek in godly service still, humbly to shadow forth Thy blessed will, by sanctifying grace upon them poured, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord. |

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified; receive our supplications and prayers, which we offer before thee for all estates of men in thy holy Church, that every member of the same, in his vocation and ministry, may truly and godly serve thee; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
