Fifth Sunday in Lent.
1 |
Almighty God, before Thy throne in penitence we kneel: with merciful glance us own; Thyself to us reveal. |
2 |
As ships upon a stormy sea require the helmsman’s hand, more tempesttossed now are we, oft wrecked on passion’s strand. |
3 |
Creation’s Lord, the stormy winds obey Thy sovereign power: govern the gales of our minds when passion’s surges tower. |
4 |
Guide us past ev-- ery dangerous rock we may approach too near; Save us from all adverse shock in every earthly fear. |
5 |
Great is Thy goodness, great Thy love: preserve us evermore, to praise Thee at home above and Christ our Lord adore. |

We beseech thee, Almighty God, mercifully to look upon thy people; that by thy great goodness they may be governed and preserved evermore, both in body and soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
