Trinity Sunday.
1 |
Almighty, everlasting Lord! Eternal Trinity adored! Thou givest us Thy servants grace by power divine the truth to trace, and worship the deep mystery of Trinity in Unity! |
2 |
In our belief the central sun, Thou great Eternal Three in One! The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, adored by Heaven’s resplendent host; they cast their crowns before Thy Throne: we worship Thee, and Thee alone! |
3 |
O God! in Thee we place our trust, Thy creatures formed from the dust, to Thee, our great Creator, raise our earnest, yet most feeble praise: by power Divine we worship Thee, dread Trinity in Unity. |
4 |
Father in Heaven! Who givest grace this mystery through the Son to trace; Eternal Son! Blest Savior! Lord! And Holy Paraclete adored! Great God Triune! our faith defend, and keep us steadfast to the end. |
5 |
Should Satan’s wiles our faith assail, let not the enemy prevail; suffer him not our souls to sift, to rob us of faith’s glorious gift: power to receive the Mystery of Trinity in Unity. |
6 |
O how shall lips impure and weak Thy Majesty, Thy glory speak? Who evermore dost live and reign, Who wast, and art, and shalt again to everlasting ages rise, One God, most Holy, Good, and Wise! |
7 |
Who wast, and art, and shalt again to everlasting ages rise, One God, most Holy, Good, and Wise! |

Tune | Melita John Bacchus Dykes (1823-1876); desc. Alan Gray (1855-1935) |
Almighty and everlasting God, who hast given unto us thy servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of the divine Majesty to worship the Unity; we beseech thee, that thou wouldest keep us steadfast in this faith, and evermore defend us from all adversaries; who livest and reignest, one God, world without end. Amen.
