The tenth Sunday after Trinity.

Lord, we approach Thy mercy’s Throne: do Thou our supplications own; to seeking souls, O God, draw near, and to their cry bend Thou Thine ear. By effluence of Thy Spirit’s grace, prepare our hearts to seek Thy face, that we from evil thoughts may turn, and with adoring fervor burn. Let our petitions ever be such as are pleasing unto Thee: so may we never find in vain, we pray Thy blessings to obtain. In faith enable us to seek in holy trust, submission meek, and ask according to Thy word, so wilt Thou give, through Christ our Lord.

1 Lord, we approach Thy mercy’s Throne:

to seeking souls, O God, draw near,
and to their cry bend Thou Thine ear.
2 By effluence of Thy Spirit’s grace,
prepare our hearts to seek Thy face,
that we from evil thoughts may turn,
and with adoring fervor burn.

so may we never find in vain,
we pray Thy blessings to obtain.

in holy trust, submission meek,
and ask according to Thy word,
so wilt Thou give, through Christ our Lord.

The tenth Sunday after Trinity.

Let thy merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of thy humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions, make them to ask such things as shall please thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
