The eighteenth Sunday after Trinity.
1 |
Lord, let our humble prayer arise and find acceptance in Thine eyes; we crave a blessing from Thy hand, the world’s temptations to withstand. |
2 |
Though brought our very best to Thee, unprofitable servants we: how oft, O Lord! we faint and fail, when trial hours our hearts assail. |
3 |
Grant, Lord, to us, Thy people, power and victory in temptation’s hour, resisting every form of ill, Satan, the world, and selfish will: |
4 |
And with pure hearts and minds to be more earnest worshippers of Thee, closer, yet closer, day by day, following in Thy accepted way. |
5 |
Only through Thee, our Strength, our Life, we conquer in temptation’s strife; Thy might, Thy power to us afford; reign in our hearts, through Christ the Lord! |
6 |
Only through Thee, our Strength, our Life, we conquer in temptation’s strife; Thy might, Thy power to us afford; reign in our hearts, through Christ the Lord! |
