In humblest households here below various grades of service grow; one bond of good unites alway though some command and some obey; each serving in appointed round a minister of God is found. |

The Church, God’s household, is on earth, blest privilege of heavenly birth! O shine upon Thy household, Lord! Fulfil the promise of Thy word, that all its members aye may be vessels of holiness in Thee. |

The golden chain of household love links saints on earth with saints above; these, seeking ‘til their labors cease, those, praying in perpetual peace: their labors, search, and prayers are one, hasten the kingdom of Thy Son. |
4 |
Descend, O Lord! Thy household bless, Keep it in constant godliness; Protect, defend, and set it free, from danger and adversity: quicken to works, through Christ made meet, to lay before the Master’s feet. |

Lord, we beseech thee to keep thy household the Church in continual godliness; that through thy protection it may be free from all adversities, and devoutly given to serve thee in good works, to the glory of thy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
