The twenty-fifth Sunday after Trinity.
| 1 |
Now humbly, Lord, we Thee beseech our cold, hard hearts to warm and teach! Thy faithful people, Lord, how few! Once more the power of faith renew: arise, O Lord, stir up our will; Thy Church with Thy blest Spirit fill. |
| 2 |
Raise up, as in the days of old, men in Thy heavenly doctrine bold; send laborers in Thy vineyard, Lord, to work, to teach, to preach Thy word: |
| 3 |
Ripe harvests cry, “the fields are white;” dark lands, dark hearts await Thy light; from east, from west, from south, from north, O bring Thy faithful people forth: |
| 4 |
Rule in their hearts, that they may bring good works in plenteous offering; abiding in the Vine, may they bring forth more fruit from day to day: |
| 5 |
Rejoicing to give up their all, themselves, their lives, at Thy dear call; plenteous reward of promised grace in heaven to see Thee face to face: |
| 6 |
Praise God the Father, throned above; praise God the Son’s redeeming love; praise God the Spirit, ever Lord, One God, one Trinity adored: O Triune Lord, stir up our will; Thy Church with Thy blest Spirit fill. |
