Collect after the Offertory. (II)

O Everlasting and Almighty Lord! God of all gods! eternally adored, before Thy throne of grace we humbly bow, we Thy frail creatures, our Creator Thou! Direct our actions, and in all things prove, Thy sanctifying power our hearts to move, to guide us onwards ever day by day, taught in Thy word to keep the narrow way. To love Thy law, to bow at Thy command, love and obedience ever hand in hand: this gladdening heart and soul in grateful praise, that teaching to “walk softly” all our days. Thus kept, preserved by Thy mighty pow’r, though clouds may shadow, and though tempest low’r, Thy bless’d protection evermore afford, through Jesus Christ our Savior and our Lord.

1 O Everlasting and Almighty Lord!
God of all gods! eternally adored,
before Thy throne of grace we humbly bow,
we Thy frail creatures, our Creator Thou!
2 Direct our actions, and in all things prove,
Thy sanctifying power our hearts to move,
to guide us onwards ever day by day,
taught in Thy word to keep the narrow way.
3 To love Thy law, to bow at Thy command,
love and obedience ever hand in hand:
this gladdening heart and soul in grateful praise,
that teaching to “walk softly” all our days.
4 Thus kept, preserved by Thy mighty pow’r,
though clouds may shadow, and though tempest low’r,
Thy bless’d protection evermore afford,
through Jesus Christ our Savior and our Lord.

Collect after the Offertory. (II)

O Almighty Lord, and everlasting God, vouchsafe, we beseech thee, to direct, sanctify, and govern, both our hearts and bodies, in the ways of thy laws, and in the works of thy commandments; that through thy most mighty protection, both here and ever, we may be preserved in body and soul; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
