Regina caeli

Joy to thee, O Queen of Heaven! He Whom thou wast meet to bear, As He promised hath arisen; Pour for us to God thy prayer. Rightly give thy gladness voice, Virgin Mother, spotless rose, Let us join thee and rejoice, For thy Son indeed arose. Thou, O God, brought’st from the grave, alleluia! By Thy Ghost Thy Son our Lord; alleluia! Thou hast vouchsafed us to save, alleluia! Thy joy given unto the world. Alleluia! Grant that, with Christ’s Mother, we, Might at last in His life share, That we might those same joys see; Hear, O God, with hers our prayer.

1 Joy to thee, O Queen of Heaven!
He Whom thou wast meet to bear,
As He promised hath arisen;
Pour for us to God thy prayer.
2 Rightly give thy gladness voice,
Virgin Mother, spotless rose,
Let us join thee and rejoice,
For thy Son indeed arose.
3 Thou, O God, brought’st from the grave,
alleluia!
By Thy Ghost Thy Son our Lord;
alleluia!
Thou hast vouchsafed us to save,
alleluia!
Thy joy given unto the world.
Alleluia!
4 Grant that, with Christ’s Mother, we,
Might at last in His life share,
That we might those same joys see;
Hear, O God, with hers our prayer.

Regina caeli · Eastertide

O Queen of heaven, be joyful, alleluia; *
  Because he whom so meetly thou barest, alleluia,

Hath arisen, as he promised, alleluia: *
  Pray for us to the Father, alleluia.

℣  Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
℟  For the Lord is risen indeed, alleluia.

Let us pray: O God, who, by the resurrection of thy Son Jesus Christ didst vouchsafe to give gladness unto the world: Grant, we beseech thee, that we, being holpen by the Virgin Mary, his Mother, may attain unto the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Rejoice, Queen Mother of heaven, alleluia; *
  Christ whom meetly thou barest is risen, alleluia;

His foresaying thus fulfilling, alleluia: *
  Offer to God thy praying, alleluia.

℣  Rejoice and be exceeding glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
℟  For the Lord is risen indeed, alleluia.

Let us Pray. O God, who by the resurrection of thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ hast given joy unto the world: grant, we beseech thee; that through his Mother, the Virgin Mary, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord. Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
